Project Overview

Glenfield to Leppington Rail Link was a NSW Government initiative to address issues of reliability and passenger growth on the metropolitan rail network and population growth in south-west Sydney.

The Glenfield to Leppington Link included a major upgrade of Glenfield Station and bus/rail interchange and a new twin track passenger rail line from Glenfield to Leppington via Edmondson Park. Construction of the Rail Link was completed in 2014.

Hinds Blunden's Consultants Role

Working within NSW’s Transport Projects Division, Hinds Blunden was engaged to provide programming and claims support throughout the project. This involved programme monitoring to ensure the Contractor was on schedule, identifying potential risk areas and calculating the likelihood that key milestones would be achieved. Hinds Blunden also developed detailed commissioning, operational readiness and safety assurance programmes to ensure a smooth transition of the project through the construction, handover and operational phases
